Terms of Use
Last updated: 18 October 2026
- Cookingly plans dinners and a grocery list for you. Always check ingredients and labels yourself, especially for allergies.
- Prices in the app are estimates, not quotes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through Apple until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or period ends to avoid being charged.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Cookingly Technologies ("Cookingly", "we", "us") for using the Cookingly app. By using the app you agree to them. They apply together with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement; if the two disagree, these terms apply where the law allows. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. What Cookingly does
Cookingly asks a few questions about your household and your week, then suggests dinners, recipes and one grocery list. Plans are written with the help of artificial intelligence and then checked by our own code (for example for the allergies and foods you told us about).
3. Allergies, food safety and health
- Always read ingredient labels and check recipes yourself. We work hard to leave out the allergens and foods you tell us about, but recipes come from AI, products differ by brand and country, and mistakes can happen. Cookingly can't guarantee a plan is free of any allergen.
- Cookingly is not medical or nutritional advice. If you or someone you cook for has a serious allergy, a medical condition or special dietary needs, follow your doctor's or dietitian's advice.
- Follow safe food handling and cooking temperatures. Cooking times in recipes are guides.
4. Prices are estimates
Grocery prices and totals in the app are estimates. Real prices depend on your store, location, brands, sales and the day you shop, and can be higher or lower.
5. Subscriptions and free trials
- Cookingly offers auto-renewing subscriptions through the App Store: yearly (shown at $49.99 per year in the US, with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers) and monthly (shown at $7 per month in the US, no trial). Prices in other countries are shown in the app before you buy and may include local taxes.
- Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase or, with a free trial, when the trial ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period or free trial. Your Apple account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel any time in your iPhone's Settings: tap your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Cookingly account does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com).
- If we change prices, Apple will tell you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
6. Your account
An account is optional. If you make one, keep access to your email address, since it's how you sign in. You can delete your account in the app (You tab, Delete my account). You're responsible for what happens under your account.
7. Fair use
Please use Cookingly for your own household. Don't misuse the service: for example, don't try to get around the daily plan limits, copy the app or its plans in bulk, reverse-engineer it, or use it to break the law. We may limit or stop access for anyone who does.
8. Our content
The app, its design, the mascot and the plans it creates are owned by us or our licensors. You may use your plans and recipes for your own household. You may not resell or republish them.
9. Changes and availability
We keep improving Cookingly, so features may change. We try to keep the service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable (for example during maintenance or if a service we rely on is down). We may update these terms; if a change is important, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
10. No warranty and limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Cookingly is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss arising from relying on a plan, recipe, price estimate or allergen check without checking it yourself. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Cookingly in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.
11. Ending
You can stop using Cookingly at any time. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria, except where the law of the country you live in gives you consumer protections that can't be changed by agreement.
